Vertical lifts are lightweight, compact and easy to manoeuvre.  They are commonly utilised for indoor and outdoor purposes in construction environments for general repairs/installations and routine building maintenance. They are also commonly utilised in warehousing for stock picking.

Completing training, licensing, a refresher or Verification of Competency course are excellent means of gaining employment or strengthening your existing skills and knowledge.

Course Info:

Course Code & Title: RIIHAN301E – Operate elevating work platform.

Course overview: 

  • Training delivery and assessment completed to RIIHAN301E to the skills and knowledge required to operate an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) safely in accordance with the unit of competency and all relevant legislative requirements.
  • Gain the skills and knowledge for issuance of a Competency Card (Yellow) by Forklift Quality Training.

Suitability:

This course is suitable for people with little to no current knowledge of Vertical lift EWP operations but are wishing to apply for their operator’s ticket and gain employment.

  • Regular course delivery at our training centre located at Unit 1/15 Dunstan Road Wingfield 5013 South Australia.
  • Course delivery options are also available for onsite locations in metropolitan Adelaide at your workplace.
  • We also specialise in servicing regional locations Australia Wide.
  • Extra charges may apply for the onsite course delivery options and minimum student numbers are required.

Course Pre-Requisites:

  • Participants must be 16 years or older and be able to provide photo identification.
  • Participants must have a minimum of year 10 Language, Literacy & Numeracy (reading, writing, numeracy and comprehension skills).
  • Must wear enclosed shoes (safety boots are preferred) and wear high visibility clothing.
  • Must supply their USI (Unique Student Identifier Number).  If you do not have one we can assist you in the process.
  • Participants must have experience in driving a vehicle.

Course Duration:

  • This course is delivered over one day.
  • The start time is 8AM and this start times is enforced.
  • The finish time is approximately 4PM.

Course Elements:

  1. Plan work/task.
  2. Prepare for work/task conducting routine checks.
  3. Perform operation of Vertical lift in directional travel as well as vertical movement.
  4. Complete works and shut down plant appropriately.

Assessment:

This course has two assessments components:

  1. Written Assessment
  2. Practical Assessment

Course Outcome:

  • Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN301E – Operate elevating work platform.
  • Issuance of a Competency Card (Yellow) by Forklift Quality Training.
