Course Code & Title: RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform.

Course Pre-Requisites, Participants must:

• be 16 years or older.  If you are 16 or 17 you will attain a “Yellow Card – Restricted Operation” & will require supervision by a RIIHAN301E qualified adult when completing work,

• be 18 years or older to attain a standard, unrestricted qualification to operate a lift completely independently,

• be able to provide photo identification, 

• have minimum year 10 Language, Literacy & Numeracy (reading, writing, numeracy & comprehension skills),

• be experienced in operating motor vehicles in Australia (more than 20 hours),

• wear enclosed shoes (safety boots are preferred) & wear high visibility clothing,

• supply their USI (Unique Student Identifier Number).  If you do not have one we can assist in the process.

Course overview: 

• Training delivery and assessment completed to RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform to the skills and knowledge required to operate an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) safely in accordance with the unit of competency and all relevant legislative requirements.
• Gain the skills and knowledge for issuance of a Competency Card (Yellow) by Forklift Quality Training.

Suitability:

This course is suitable for people with little to no current knowledge of Vertical lift EWP operations but are wishing to apply for their operator’s ticket and gain employment.

Locations: 

• Regular course delivery at our training centre located at Unit 1/15 Dunstan Road Wingfield 5013 South Australia.
• Course delivery options are also available for onsite locations in metropolitan Adelaide at your workplace.
• We also specialise in servicing regional locations Australia Wide.
• Extra charges may apply for the onsite course delivery options and minimum student numbers are required.

Course Duration:

• This course is delivered over one day.
• The start time is 8AM and this start times is enforced.
• The finish time is approximately 4PM.

Course Elements:

1. Plan work/task.
2. Prepare for work/task conducting routine checks.
3. Perform operation of Vertical lift in directional travel as well as vertical movement.
4. Complete works and shut down plant appropriately.

Assessment:

This course has two assessments components:

1. Written Assessment
2. Practical Assessment

Course Outcome:

• Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform.
• Issuance of a Competency Card (Yellow) by Forklift Quality Training.

Descriptor:

Vertical lifts are lightweight, compact and easy to manoeuvre.  They are commonly utilised for indoor and outdoor purposes in construction environments for general repairs/installations and routine building maintenance. They are also commonly utilised in warehousing for stock picking.
