Plant Driver Training

Becoming a skilled and efficient operator can require additional investment in time.  At Forklift Quality Training (FQT) we provide Plant Driver Training that provides an individual additional time for development under the supervision of an experienced trainer. This can be conducted at our facility in Adelaide or on site at a employers venue.

This training course option is provided for plant such as Forklifts, Order Pickers, Scissor lifts and Reach Trucks at our 1/15 Dunstan Road Wingfield, Adelaide South Australia premises.  A broader range of Plant Driver Training can also be accommodated, catered to your equipment on your worksite for Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steers, Telehandlers, Electric Pallet Jacks and Walkie Stackers.

The training permits customisation in structure to enable focus in areas that the participant is requiring improvement in.

Course Overview:

This training course is designed to provide the participant with the skills and knowledge to undertake mobile equipment operation for plant they are requiring further development in.

Course Content:

  • Conduct routine checks.
  • Plan work.
  • Check controls and equipment.
  • Operate plant.
  • Shut down plant.

Suitability:

This course is suitable for participants with experience in plant as well as those with no experience and knowledge requiring additional training/supervision.

Locations:

  • Regular course delivery at our training centre located at Unit 1/15 Dunstan Road Wingfield 5013 South Australia.
  • This can be within metropolitan Adelaide, regional South Australia or interstate locations.
  • Extra charges may apply for onsite course delivery options and minimum student numbers are required.

Course Duration:

  • This course is delivered over a minimum 2 hour period and can be increased further.
  • Start and finish times to be arranged at time of booking.

Course Pre-Requisites:

  • Participants must be a suitable age for the plant they are operating and must be able to provide photo identification.
  • Participants must have a minimum of year 10 Language, Literacy & Numeracy (reading, writing, numeracy and comprehension skills).
  • Must wear enclosed shoes (safety boots are preferred) and wear high visibility clothing.

Assessment:

  1. Written components – knowledge and calculations.*
  2. Practical Component.** Assessments are on a as required basis depending on the the plant and driver training requirement.

Course Outcome:

  • Students who successfully complete this course will develop valuable practical and theoretical understanding of plant operations in industry.
