Course Code & Title: RIIHAN301E – Operate elevating work platform

Course overview:

  • This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate an elevating work platform at any height.
  • This unit applies to those working in operational roles.
  • The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements that may apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors, and must be sourced prior to applying this unit.
  • This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisted by someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and Unload Plant or equivalent

Course overview: 

This course is suitable for people with little to know current knowledge of EWP’s operations but are wishing to apply for their operator’s ticket and gain employment.

Course Pre-Requisites 

  • Participants must be 18yrs or older and provide photo Id as evidence
  • Participants must have a minimum of year 10 LLN (reading, writing numeracy and comprehension) skills
  • Must wear enclosed shoes (safety boots are preferred) and High visibility clothing
  • Must supply their USI (Unique Student Identifier Number)

Course Duration: 

  • This course is delivered over one day 08:00am – 04:00pm
  • Delivery: 5 ½ hrs (approximately)
  • Assessment: 2 ½ hrs(approximately)

Course Elements:

  1. Plan and prepare for operating an elevating work platform
  2. Operate elevating work platform in line with established requirements to complete work activity
  3. Conduct housekeeping activities

Assessment:

This course has two assessments

  1. Written Assessment
  2. Practical Demonstration (on a minimum of two separate occasions)

Course Outcome:

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a FQT ‘operatorscard (yellow)’

Scissor Lift Training Course Adelaide

Scissor lifts training in Adelaide is very important and useful. Scissor lifts are a hydraulic platform that are raised and lowered directly above the base.
This course describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate an elevating work platform in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries correctly and safely. This course is appropriate for those working in operational roles.
This course covers the ability to plan work, work safely with others in industry, conduct routine checks on workplace equipment and facilities,shift loads in a safe manner, shut down and secure the equipment after the completion of operations.

Onceyou have successfully completed this course, you will receivea Statement of Attainment for the unit: RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform and a FQT ‘Operators card (yellow)’

To be eligible for the 1-day Forklift assessment Safework SA require the following:

  • 18 Years or older
  • Photo ID
  • An Expired Forklift HRWL
  • Old Forklift Ticket and a letter on company letterhead advising the staff member has completed 15 hours of log book training and is competent and experienced on a forklift.
  • 15 hours of log book training supervised by a High-Risk Forklift Licence Holder and that the critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit have been met.
  • Read the Study guide and answer the revision question at the back. (We will email this once the booking has been made).
  • For any training, students are required to have a USI – Unique Identifier number, to obtain a USI number go to www.usi.gov.au, please supply this at time of enrollment.
