Manual Handling training provides employers and employees the skills to safely complete labour-intensive activities in a manner that reduces risk of injury. Completing training, licencing, a Refresher or Verification of Competency course are excellent means of gaining employment or strengthening your existing skills and knowledge.

Course Info:
Course overview:
- Provide basic knowledge to plan manual handling activities
- Identify, assess & control risk in the workplace related to manual handling.
- Performing manual load shifting.
Course Equivalency:
- The training delivery and assessment of this course is aligned to the unit of competency but is a non accredited course. The course provides a student and business provision of quality plant training and supporting assessment evidence to meet their Work Health Safety responsibilities.
Suitability:
This course is suitable for individuals with no experience and knowledge in Manual Handling operations.
Locations:
- Course delivery options are limited to your workplace. This can be within metropolitan Adelaide, regional South Australia or interstate locations.
- Extra charges may apply for onsite course delivery options and minimum student numbers are required.
Course Pre-Requisites:
- Participants must be able to provide photo identification.
- Participants must have a minimum of year 10 Language, Literacy & Numeracy (reading, writing, numeracy and comprehension skills).
- Must wear enclosed shoes (safety boots are preferred) and wear high visibility clothing.
Course Duration:
- This course is delivered over 4 hours.
- Start times to be arranged at time of booking.
Course Elements:
- Plan work/task relocation.
- Identify Hazards, assess risks and implement controls associated with Manual Handling of the load.
- Perform shifting of loads.
- Complete works.
Assessment:
This course has two assessments:
- Written components – Knowledge based.
- Practical component.
Course Outcome:
- Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Statement of Training completion.
