Course Code & Title:

TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

Unit overview: 

  • This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant.
  • Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.
  • A person performing this work is required to hold a boom-type elevating work platform HRWL.

Course overview:

This course is suitable for people with little to know current knowledge of anEWP operations but are wishing toapply for their High-Risk Work licence for a Boom-type EWP (boom length 11metres of more) and gain employment.

Course Pre-Requisites 

  • Participants must be 18yrs or older and provide photo Id as evidence
  • Participants must have a minimum of year 10 LLN (reading, writing numeracy and comprehension skills)
  • People must not be afraid of working at heights
  • Must wear enclosed shoes (safety boots) are preferred and wear High visibility clothing
  • Must supply their USI (Unique Student Identifier Number)

Course Duration: 

  • This course is delivered over two consecutive days 08:15am – 04:00pm
  • Delivery: 12hrs (approximately)
  • Assessment: 4hrs (approximately)

Assessment:

This course has two assessments

  1. Written Assessment
  2. Practical Demonstration

Course Outcome:

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment both are required to apply for your High Risk licence

Elevated Work Platform Course Training Adelaide

TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

This training based in Adelaide, and teaches the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type elevating work platform where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more.

Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

A person performing this work is required to hold a boom-type elevating work platform high risk work (HRW) licence.

This unit requires a person operating a boom-type elevating work platform to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up elevating work platform, operate elevating work platform, and shut down and secure elevating work platform.

We offer the Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform in Adelaide.

To be eligible for the 1-day Forklift assessment Safework SA require the following:

  • 18 Years or older
  • Photo ID
  • An Expired Forklift HRWL
  • Old Forklift Ticket and a letter on company letterhead advising the staff member has completed 15 hours of log book training and is competent and experienced on a forklift.
  • 15 hours of log book training supervised by a High-Risk Forklift Licence Holder and that the critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit have been met.
  • Read the Study guide and answer the revision question at the back. (We will email this once the booking has been made).
  • For any training, students are required to have a USI – Unique Identifier number, to obtain a USI number go to www.usi.gov.au, please supply this at time of enrollment.
