Forklift Quality Training Pty Ltd (FQT) is proud to announce that we are now a CITB endorsed training provider, enabling eligible construction workers across South Australia to access substantial subsidies for their professional development. This partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board opens new doors for affordable, high-quality training in the building and construction sector.
What is CITB and How Does It Support SA’s Construction Industry?
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is a whole-of-industry led organisation that plays a crucial role in developing South Australia’s construction workforce. By collecting revenue from building and construction work undertaken throughout the state, CITB creates a funding pool that directly benefits workers through subsidised training opportunities.
CITB’s mission extends far beyond just providing subsidies. The organisation focuses on attracting, training, and retaining South Australian building and construction workers by:
-
Providing access to subsidised training for apprentices, their employers and workers
-
Promoting and supporting careers in construction
-
Advising the SA Government on industry training matters
-
Supporting training, innovation, research and planning initiatives
-
Attracting future workforce through vocational training in schools via the doorways2construction™ program
Substantial Training Subsidies Available
One of the most significant benefits of CITB’s program is the generous financial support available to eligible participants. Each financial year, eligible persons with an approved CITB number can obtain up to $3,000 of training subsidies off any CITB endorsed short course with approved training providers like FQT.
This substantial subsidy can dramatically reduce the cost burden of professional development, making essential safety and skills training more accessible to construction workers and their employers across South Australia.
How FQT Facilitates CITB Subsidies
As a CITB endorsed training provider, FQT has streamlined the subsidy application process for our students. When enrolling in our courses, we collect your CITB identification number directly through our course enrolment application. However, it remains solely the responsibility of the individual to supply the CITB identification number prior to a course commencing.
It’s important to understand that whilst FQT facilitates the process, all CITB subsidy applications are determined solely by the CITB, and FQT bears no part in the approvals process for claims. This ensures transparency and maintains the integrity of the subsidy system.
Eligibility Requirements for CITB Subsidies
To access these valuable subsidies through FQT, you must meet specific eligibility criteria:
Basic Eligibility
-
Living in South Australia
-
Working in South Australia’s building and construction industry
For detailed definitions of ‘building and construction’ and specific requirements, eligible persons should refer to the CITB eligibility policy.
Subsidy-Specific Requirements
To receive subsidies, you must:
-
Have an approved CITB number at the time of training
-
Successfully pass and complete your training
Important Note: CITB only approves subsidy claims for successfully completed courses where an individual is deemed competent. If you’re assessed as not yet competent following course completion, you’ll need to attend subsequent training until you can demonstrate competency, and FQT may impose charges for this additional training.
