Course Code & Title: TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 meters or more).

Course Pre-Requisites, Participants must:

• be 18 years or older & be able to provide photo identification.

• have minimum year 10 Language, Literacy & Numeracy (reading, writing, numeracy & comprehension skills).

• have some experience in operating plant or motor vehicles in Australia (more than 20 hours),

• wear enclosed shoes (safety boots are preferred) & wear high visibility clothing.

• supply their USI (Unique Student Identifier Number).  If you do not have one we can assist in the process.

Course Overview: 

• The training delivery and assessment is completed to the nationally accredited unit TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 meters or more) and provides the skills and knowledge required to operate a Boom lift over 11m’s safely in accordance with the unit of competency and all relevant Work Health and Safety legislative requirements.
• Competence in this unit does not in itself result in a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant.
• Completion of the course enables an individual to undertake the Safework HRWL assessment. A satisfactory achievement in that assessment enables an individual to lodge documentation towards a HRWL being issued.

• Regular course delivery at our training centre located at Unit 1/15 Dunstan Road Wingfield 5013 South Australia.
• Course delivery options are also available for onsite locations in metropolitan Adelaide at your workplace.
• We also specialise in servicing regional locations within South Australia and the Northern Territory.
• Extra charges may apply for the onsite course delivery options and minimum student numbers are required.

Course Duration:

• This course is delivered over two consecutive days.
• The start time is 8AM each day and these start times are enforced.
• The finish time is approximately 4PM each day.

Course Elements:

1. Plan work/task.
2. Prepare for work/task conducting routine checks.
3. Perform work/task of operating and positioning boom.
4. Complete works and shut down Boom lift appropriately.

Assessment:

This course has two full assessment components:

1. The unit of competency TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 meters or more) assessment components.
2. The Safework SA High Risk Work Licence assessment components.

Both assessments include knowledge, calculations and performance assessment components.

Please note the Safework High Risk Work Licence assessment is a closed book assessment and is to be completed individually.

Course Outcome:

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a

• Statement of Attainment for the unit TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 meters or more).
• A Tax Invoice and declaration to present at a Service SA or Post Office. Payment to be made within 60 Days.
• A Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) for the class of High Risk Work Licence issued by SafeWork SA.

Descriptor:

A Boom lift consists of a platform attached to a hydraulic arm and a grounded, movable base. Lift operators can use boom lifts to extend their vertical reach,  horizontal reach or to work at angles in difficult workspaces. Boom lifts can raise workers to heights ranging from 10 to 100 meters. This course is designed for Boom lifts over 11 meters with the course desired outcome being a (WP) HRWL.
